A Little Laughter
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?" "Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

Kitchen Spotlight
This month we our spotlight is on Steve MacLure. He is our fun-loving, footloose and fancy free man in charge of the kitchen at night!! Steve loves to have a good time and is always the life of the party. He is always keeping things lively in the kitchen – the night guys have a blast!! Steve has worked in many restaurants, some in B.C., but has returned home to PEI. Steve excels at working with the public and has done many Thursday Night Pasta Nights – of course, the ladies love him with his blue eyes and batting eyelashes!!!!
Did You Know.....
..... that February is the only month of the year that can pass without a single full moon? It is also the only month of the calendar that once every six years and twice every 11 years, will have only four full 7-day weeks.
..... that Alice Cooper (turning 63), Bob Marley (who would have been 66), John Travolta (turning 57) and Elizabeth Taylor (turning 79) all celebrate their birthdays in February?
..... that worldwide, over 50 million roses are given for Valentine’s Day each year?

Local Supplier Spotlight
Bighill Farms
Gary and Gwen Renkema run a family farm in the lush rolling hills of the Hunter River watershed. The Dutch-born farmers own, rent and farm 300 acres of land. They grow feed for their livestock; milling wheat; soy beans; non-GMO canola; and turkeys and chickens – chickens that we use in our chicken salad sandwiches. Gary and Gwen deliver to us locally raised chickens that are always fresh and delicious. My family purchased a turkey from the Renkema farm that we cooked for Christmas dinner and it was the best bird we’ve ever had!!! You can contact Gary and Gwen at 902-964-3022, take a drive to their farm at 2123 New Glasgow Road, Hunter River or check out their profile at Anne’s PEI Farm at www.annespeifarm.com/en/our-story/farmer-stories/bighill-farms.php or check out our links page.
