It's The Merchantman Pub's June Newsletter!!!! Summer is here and hopefully the weather will be fantastic!!! We are gearing up for a fun and busy Summer season!!!
Our new Summer Menu is ready and will be available on June 6th (assuming the printer has our new menus printed and returned to us on time!!!). The new menus will be posted on the website at the end of the week - there are a lot of new creations from the entire kitchen staff. One perk of this job is taste testing many of these wonderful new dishes. Chef Shirleen and her team have really outdone themselves, in my opinion. My favorite is the Lobster Linguine - this year it's made with Famous Pepper's Pasta - fresh PEI pasta and lobster...... YUMMY!!!!
Father's Day is on the 19th - we are not open - but we do wish all the Dad's a very Happy Father's Day!!!!!

Kitchen Spotlight
Katie Dawson is in the spotlight this month. Katie is one of the newer additions to the kitchen staff - she is definitely a welcome addition. Katie could teach a few people about getting things done and accomplished in the kitchen. She is cool under fire and has an awesome work ethic. She has been a quick learner and a hard worker. Katie also has some great ideas - like her "Sweet Nothings" dessert we ran as the Dessert of the Day - DELICIOUS!!!! Katie will be attending the Culinary Institute in the fall to fulfill her dream of becoming a chef - inspired by her grandmother. Katie's aunt Marilyn also used to work at The Pub.
No matter what Katie does or where her travels take her, she will undoubtedly be successful. Her kind and helpful demeanour will make her the best in any kitchen!!!
